I officially started as a Pastoral Intern on June 1, 2017 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Littleton CO. If you look at my Facebook page and talk to me for two minutes, I will tell you all about being an intern at Holy Trinity. It is a big deal to me. I think it is a big deal in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Rocky Mountain Synod (RMS) that I am a pastoral intern at Holy Trinity. I started seminary in the fall of 2013. The crazy thing is, I was in graduate school at CU Denver when I started an online Greek class through Luther Seminary. I have worked hard to finish my MA in Counseling Psychology at CU Denver, open a private counseling practice, and work toward an M. Div. at Luther Seminary through a distributed learning program which means I traveled to St. Paul MN in January and June for two weeks to take intensive residential classes. Believe me, the classes were intense. So, over the past several years, I have completed the classes necessary, including a semester of Clinical Pastoral Education, so I can move onto the last major phase of my seminary training--Pastoral Internship.
I just completed my first week of internship and I am elated and exhausted. I have a day off of church work today. I have been trying to get this blog off the ground for months, but this morning, I was motivated to actually work on my blog and upload several of my sermons. I will do my best to start posting regularly, but my life is so busy it is hard to make time to write about what I am doing because I am so busy doing what needs to be done. I must sign off now because I have to get a bite of lunch and then head off to my counseling office in Longmont to see a few clients this afternoon. Peace be with you all!! Nicole
